Civilmodern Air Transport is founded as a subsidiary of Civil Air Transport (ROC) and Modern Air Transport (USA). A Memorandum of understanding is signed in Honolulu, Hawaii.

CVMO sets up operation base at Kastrup Airport, Copenhagen, Denmark.

CVMO begins service to Belgrade, and Madrid.

CVMO receives 3 Vickers Viscounts, its first fleet of Turboprop airliners.

CVMO begins regular scheduled North African service to Marrakesh, Tunis, and Tripoli.

1960:

CVMO begins charter service in East Asia in conjunction with Civil Air Transport.

CVMO begins service from Taipei to Surabaya and Da Nang using Douglas DC-4s.

CVMO orders 6 Sud Aviation SE.210 Caravelles.

CVMO begins its first Jet service between Copenhagen and Marrakesh.

1959:

CVMO receives 3 additional Vickers Viscounts.

CVMO begins service to Paris and Frankfurt.

1960s

1958:

CVMO begins charter service to Algiers.

CVMO introduces its first Intra-European package program.

CVMO begins service to London.

1956:

Civilmodern Air Transport begins route planning in Western Europe and North Africa.

CVMO receives its first aircraft, a DOUGLAS DC-4 Skymaster (OY-NKM)

CVMO begins its first flight between Copenhagen, DK and Nice, FR.

CVMO receives 4 additional DOUGLAS DC-4s and begins service to Rotterdam, Glasgow, Munich, Frankfurt, and Turin.

1962:

CVMO receives 4 Lockheed L-188 Electras to replace the Douglas DC-4s used in East Asian network.

CVMO added Hong Kong and Osaka to its East Asian network.

CVMO begins service to Paris and Frankfurt.

1963:

CVMO reaches its 100,000 passenger milestone.

CVMO orders 6 Douglas DC-8s and 4 Boeing 707s.

CVMO adds Madrid, Paris, and Naples to its European network.

CVMO adds Saigon and Tokyo to its East Asian network.

1961:

CVMO receives 4 Convair CV-880s.

CVMO begins service to Cairo and Istanbul.

CVMO begins coordinated service with SAS from Stockholm Bromma Airport.

16 November: A Martin 4-0-4 enroute from Turin to Tripoli experienced heavy storm across the Mediterranean Sea. The aircraft was diverted to Tunis but landed short of the runway. 8 out of 26 passengers and crew were injured.
